COMANITY is just completing its first ‘set up’ phase. In this phase, we have set up the project structures (including this website) and management systems; done some research – on how young people see their world and what they need form youth services, and on the ‘competence needs’ of youth workers and volunteers; developed a ‘Community Animateur’ competence framework and a self-assessment tool to help youth workers and volunteers check out their skills and identify the gaps. This framework and self-assessment tool will shortly go live online. We then aim to get youth workers and volunteers to give it a try so we can improve it. In the next stage of the project, we will develop a training programme to help youth workers and volunteers to become ‘Community Animateurs’. This will go on-line from January 2019.
